We made it!!!

It's Tuesday night and we are here in Tennessee. It was quite the experience to get here AGAIN, but God was merciful. Our first hurdle was my shots. Tom started giving them to me on Saturday, and while the initial pain of them was far less than I had anticipated (which is amazing because they are 1 1/2 inches long), the problem comes hours later when the muscle tries to deal with what was injected into it. But - have no fear, Tom solved the issue by suggesting I sit on a pillow in the car - and it worked!

We thought we were home free after that... Our bags were packed Sunday night and we were ready to go Monday morning. That is, until we woke up to a furnace that wasn't working - AGAIN. For those of you that think back to our Christmas remember that it conked out then too - just as we were planning on leaving on vacation - perhaps it is strangely attached to us. So - we did our usual tricks and no go. We had to call our repairman who came as quickly as he could. Amazingly the dumb thing kicked back on just as he was pulling into the driveway and that meant he couldn't troubleshoot the problem. So - now what? We were worried about the pipes and Fruit and Peanut. The solution? Tim (our repairman) offered to stop by once or twice a day to check on it. That was what we needed to hear - we were off!

Unfortunately, our time frame was off and a storm was closing in. We left by 2pm and headed to DuBois to drop Pepper off at my mom's. She was wonderful and fed us stew for dinner and then tossed us out to keep moving. Because of the storm we took a longer way to stay on major highways (which made snowy driving easier) and ended up in Fairmont, WV by 10pm.

We left our hotel in Fairmont this morning and despite more snow we made it to Knoxville by dinnertime. We checked in to our hotel and went to dinner - kudos to Texas Roadhouse. So - now we have some items to check off the doctor's list and we're off to bed - more tomorrow!
