Welcome Jonathan!

From Tennessee we took a detour to New Jersey to visit with my sister and her family. We hadn't seen them since Christmas and were anxious to be there in case Melissa delivered #4. We also had precious cargo for the other 3 kids.... a cooler of snow. We filled the cooler up with some of our abundance before leaving for TN and amazingly it lasted until we got there on Friday! The kids loved it! Unfortunately for them (but not their parents) they haven't had any snow yet this winter. Immediately we had snowball fights, mini snowmen and snow sculptures.

What a fun day... then the adults had a chance to catch up after the kids went to bed. We all retired at midnight only to be woken up at 2am when Melissa went into labor. They went to the hospital and we went back to bed and waited for the call that came at 3:30 am announcing that Jonathan was born! The other 3 were excited to hear the news when they woke up in the morning.

We all went out to the hospital later that morning and got to see the little guy and Melissa (who looked great!). Then, when Maddy and Faith went to a girls only birthday party, Tom and I took James out to McDonald's for lunch - a little tradition we have when his siblings are born. We spent the rest of the day playing with the kids. I even got to make breakfast for dinner!
We said our goodbyes Sunday morning and went to church at Covenant Presbyterian Church. It was nice to worship there with old friends and then to have lunch with some of them afterwords at Pizza Mia's! We miss you all!
One thing we didn't miss was the snow - but apparently it missed us! About halfway home we started seeing flakes flying. Not too much later my brother called to tell us that the snow was bad in DuBois and that we should reconsider coming there to pick up Pepper. Thankfully we made it home safely and we'll get Pepper on Friday - barring no more snow!
